SKA SwordPlay Books was founded in 1997 by Steve Khinoy, who has been active in fencing for over fifty years. He has medaled in all three weapons, has coached since 1978, started three high school fencing programs and one college program, and is a co-founder of the US Fencing Hall of Fame. He is a retired professor of medieval literature and is still an active coach and competitor.

    Steve was frustrated at the relative scarcity of good books about fencing and decided to do something about it. The result was SKA SwordPlay Books.

   Our mission is simple: to serve the fencing world by making more knowledge accessible -- both by producing and publishing new books and reprinting fencing classics.
